Did you know that Limehouse ward has the highest levels of Nitrogen Dioxide in Tower Hamlets?
Commercial Road, the Limehouse Link and the Rotherhithe Tunnel are all contributing to the illegal pollution levels in our neighbourhood.
Nitrogen Dioxide tests show an average NO 2 level at the Narrow St/Limehouse Link location of 85.74µgm 3 , which is 114% above the annual Air Quality Objective, and the legal EU limit value, of 40µgm 3 and a full 34% above the next highest location near the Blackwall Tunnel. The Breathe Clean Monitoring Air Quality in Tower Hamlets 2018 highlights how the junction of Branch Road and Commercial Road (between the railway bridge and

We are pushing for a range of measures to monitor and improve air quality in the ward, including:
- Installation of green spaces and green infrastructure (especially on Branch Road)
- Installation of more air quality monitors
- The council and GLA to improve traffic management in the area
